About us.
Hi! My name is Mervin Armstrong. I founded Swervin's Mini Indy in 2010 because it's fun to race go carts, and it's fun to get other people involved in it. Each year the adrenaline rush is what keeps us coming back.
My first experience in racing was building a formula one style racing car with the University of Regina Society of Automotive Engineers. We built a car from scrap based on the Avro Arrow aircraft and competed in Pontiac, Michigan against 100 other engineering schools.
As an industrial engineer and project manager with an industrial mechanical background, I bring attention to safety and good clean competitive fun.
The first race was in 2010, consisting of six teams in a parking lot. We have grown to 18 teams and raised over $80,000 for charities. For the past 7 years we have been bringing the race to Regina's downtown Citysquare Plaza. We are looking forward to our 8th year!
Get inside the helmet!
